Viglen, an “Excellence Seeker” says British Standards Institute

The British Standards Institute (BSI) has upgraded Viglen’s ISO9001 certification to the latest 2008 standard. This builds upon a long-term program of continuous improvement which has demonstrated best practice in process standards.
This latest evaluation classifies Viglen’s Quality Management System (QMS) at an “Excellence Seeker” level of maturity. The BSI considered Viglen’s QMS to be proactive in establishing a framework of processes in its daily activities and fully integrated to the business.
 
Viglen has once again demonstrated its commitment to the highest standards of best business practice by continuing to deliver a unique and personal level of service.

Buying Solutions

Buying Solutions is the national procurement partner for UK public services. It was established in 2001 as a result of the Gershon Report, through a merger of the procurement functions of the Buying Agency and CCTA. They are an Executive Agency of the Office of Government Commerce in the Treasury.

National Desktop and Notebook Agreement

A framework formed from the merger of the outgoing IRDA (Inter-Regional Desktop Agreement) and NNA (National Notebook Agreement). The agreement, which is supported and managed by UCISA (Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association), is split into Lots in which Viglen is an approved supplier.

Office of Government Commerce

The Office of Government Commerce (OGC) is an independent office of HM Treasury, established to help Government deliver best value from its spending. The OGC works with central Government departments and other public sector organisations.

An agreement, in which Viglen is an approved supplier of Servers and Storage.

Department for Education

An agreement, approved by the Department for Education, capable of providing a set of mandatory services to educational institutions, under the terms of the ICT Services Framework for Lot 1 — Infrastructure and mobile connectivity services and Lot 2 — Provision of integrated ICT services.

Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) was formed in 1974 and is the largest of the six regional higher education purchasing consortia that operate throughout the UK.

Contractors Health and Safety

In 1997 a group of health and safety and procurement professionals from across Great Britain worked with the Association of London Government (ALG) to develop CHAS. In 2001 CHAS became a web-based system, with two main aims, to improve health and safety standards across Great Britain and to reduce duplicated safety applications for both suppliers and buyers.
