Product Accessibility

Viglen understands that services are used by people with visual, auditory, and mobility impairments. Guidelines intended to ensure that software can be accessed by people having such impairments have been developed. Viglen understands the importance of producing accessible technology. These guidelines are designed to ensure that our products and technology are accessible by all parties with auditory, mobility and visual impairments via user interface design and assistive technologies. Assistive technology includes numerous software and hardware tools, including: screen readers (which translate what's shown on a computer screen), refreshable Braille displays, screen magnification tools, and other tools.

Viglen’s products have interdependencies with the products of various other vendors. Our goal is to develop and maintain accessible products, but we cannot always control the compliance of other software and hardware companies. The responsibility for accessibility lies with all manufacturers and software producers. Viglen addresses the accessibility of ITs technology through an ongoing review process. Viglen has developed a tier of tailor-made support packages in modular form, enabling our clients to select the combination of training and telephone-based or on-site analyst services to suit them best — up to and including full Managed Service contracts with 24/7 support from named individuals.

Where technology allows, we are also able to offer remote access assistance, dialling-in to networks to troubleshoot while providing telephone support. In emergency situations, full engineer callout services are available based on a set of pre-agreed fault levels.

We employ staff with unrivalled Microsoft licensing expertise and experience and are one of a small number of OEMs with Microsoft Education Large Account Reseller status giving our public sector customers unique access to Microsoft knowledge.

By providing a highly qualified pre-sales support team to advise on network design and implementation our customers can relax in the knowledge that the system they order meets their requirements exactly.Viglen engineers are available to provide installation services and on-site configuration. Large networks can even be configured prior to shipment where necessary and customer acceptance tests can take place either at Viglen or at the customer site.

To complete our range of solutions, Viglen acquired Xenon, a company that holds 3rd party maintenance accreditations for other manufacturers, e.g. Compaq, so comprehensive, flexible maintenance cover can be provided for up to 5 years. Their skills also embrace leading LAN and WAN technologies.

Viglen manufactures a full range of PCs and Notebooks, from entry-level through to state-of-the-art workstations.

Furthermore, Viglen has undertaken substantial investment to become one of the few UK manufacturers to have developed an in-house CE certification laboratory. This gives Viglen the ability to test new products during the early development stages, shortening the time-lag between conception and introduction and therefore maintaining ITs position at the forefront of new technologies.
