Viglen helps Gloucestershire NHS go mobile

Viglen has succeeded in enabling healthcare services in Gloucestershire to ‘go mobile’ in 2011, having won the contract to provide the NHS Foundation Trust with IT services earlier this year.

With hospital and community healthcare services around the country increasingly seeing the benefit of using mobile computing technology, Viglen was appointed to assist with the hospital’s IT infrastructure and was awarded the contract under the government’s Buying Solutions framework.

Viglen recommended working with its partner Toshiba on the project, who is providing two laptop products to fulfil the mobile brief. Gloucestershire Hospitals Foundation Trust were looking for a single supplier that could meet its multiple needs and as a result, Viglen are directly responsible for managing the relationship. They act as a mediator and provide quick and effective support for the Trust, who have 12,000 staff working in 300 buildings over 1,200 square miles.

“Viglen has proved to be very flexible and that enables the relationship to work very well. We are extremely pleased with how Viglen have managed this process”

“We are delighted with how the relationship has developed so far. Gloucestershire NHS briefed us on their clear objective of providing solutions to enable their staff to be more mobile and, with the help of Toshiba, we are managing this process with tremendous results. The NHS sector continues to be a primary focus for Viglen and we hope that this contract win will be followed by many more in the coming months.”
