The file links are given as suggested files available. You should ascertain the correct suitability and use of the file prior to download and/or installation. Such use is subject to the Viglen disclaimer. Any files downloaded from Viglen sites are to be considered as used at your own risk. Viglen will not accept any liability for the use or misuse of the files made available.

To initiate a download, you should either click on the link given then choose ‘Save As’ or you may right-click the link given choosing ‘Save Target As’. We do not recommend Opening the file from it’s location under any circumstance as this is unpredictable and due to the transitory nature of the Internet, may result in serious data loss if the connection is terminated.

FTP link downloads

FTP uses standard or “active” FTP only using port 21 for connection & commands and port 20 for data transfer only — for reasons of security. (PASV or “passive” FTP mode would require port 21 then any port between 1024 & 5000 to be available for the data request & transfer).

In the event of FTP transfer issues e.g. FTP connection but no directory listing, or file transfer but no data (empty file) you may need to check and adjust your browser settings (as outlined below), alternatively use a dedicated FTP client e.g. Cute FTP available from www.cuteFTP.com to manage your downloads.

To adjust your browser settings click on Tools — Internet Options — Advanced. This will bring up the following screen:

Please ensure your settings are such that:
1. The ‘Enable folder view for FTP sites’ box is ticked.

2. The ‘Use Passive FTP (for firewall and DSL modem compatibility)’ box is clear.

For users of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer V5.0 and above may find the following article will assist configuration http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx&scid=kb;en-us;309816&Product=win2000

Additionally, if you are accessing the Internet from within a firewall or a routed establishment or via a proxy server, you may not have the required permissions for FTP download (ports 20 & 21) — please check with your local network or IT helpdesk.

HTTP link downloads

These are offered as an alternative download method for http only (Port 80) users.

Virus Checking

Whilst Viglen Ltd makes every effort to ensure all files available are virus checked and clean for download we recommend that you should personally virus check ANY file download loaded from the Internet prior to opening or use using the latest available anti-virus software and to include all latest updates.
