Viglen 1U Twin based on the
Quad-Core AMD Opteron Processor
Viglen continues to lead the way in server
technology with a variety of reliable, efficient
platform options now also incorporating the unique
value of Quad-Core AMD Opteron Processors
(codenamed "Barcelona"). Recent additions to the
Viglen 1U Twin range illustrate this to perfection by
offering 90%+ power efficiency and double the performance
in half the space! AMD’s Direct Connect
Architecture also enables these systems to deliver
ultimate efficiency with consolidation options and
power management.
Supporting two AMD Opteron processor-based
DP motherboards in a 1U chassis, the new Viglen
HX225Ta 1U Twin increases computing density
whilst minimizing energy consumption, costs and
space requirements. When populated with four
Quad-Core AMD Opteron 2300 series processors,
the system features 16 processor cores for
exceptional computing density. Each node is a true
high-performance system that supports up to 64GB
of energy-efficient DDR2 memory, PCI-Express x16,
and independent dual Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Key Features
Density
The layout and chassis design provides two
nodes in 1U and up to 84 Nodes in a 42U
standard rack which is perfect to save rack
space. The two full servers in a 1U chassis
are backed up with an incredibly reliable
power supply.
Performance
With the ability to use the latest in processor
technology from the AMD 2300 series CPU,
Viglen is able to deliver unsurpassed
memory I/O and performance.
Cost Reduction
The Viglen 1U Twin reduces TCO and running
costs by not only saving rack space but also
by incorporating a 90%+ efficient PSU.
Having a more efficient power supply means
a lower overall power draw which leads to
lower electricity and air-conditioning bills.
