See IT Grow Competition Details

Across Spring and Summer 2010, Viglen will be nurturing some of the country’s budding young gardeners to think big by hosting a competition to grow the UK’s largest sunflowers. The See IT Grow competition is open to every primary and secondary school in the UK, both state-funded and private, and has two categories:

to grow the tallest sunflower
the sunflower with the largest head diameter

During five months, schools will go head-to-head, sowing their sunflower seeds provided by Viglen in late March 2010 and regularly monitoring progress, updating a special website enabling them to show off, not only their ICT skills but also their horticultural prowess.

You will need to sow your seeds in late March 2010
Login to the See IT Grow website each week, record the height of the sunflower and the width of the head
Give your school the praise it deserves by submitting photos and artwork that can be seen on the See IT Grow website

Step 3

Login to the See IT Grow website, record the final height of the sunflower and width of the head before Friday 16th July 2010
Winning schools will be notified by Thursday 22nd July 2010
