Viglen has been involved for a while in developing an exciting range of products and services designed to improve your environment. These ‘EnviroQuiet products have much less energy requirements than standard, and much lower noise emissions. We feel that offering environmentally friendly computers allows our valued customers to join with us helping to lower total carbon emissions, while saving them money in the long run. The EnviroQuiet label doesn’t just cover low power PCs and Servers though — we also have new packaging to reduce discarded cardboard, and new services covering recycling and safe disposal of IT equipment.

Highlight on WEEE

The WEEE directive is the hot topic at the moment, and rightly so as it will go some way to reduce the poor ethical attitudes toward waste that some suppliers have. The WEEE directive closes the IT hardware lifecycle loop, by making the supplier responsible for the recycling and disposing of their own equipment. Viglen has always operated a ‘no-landfill’ policy when it comes to recycling, and has been offering redeployment / recycling services for years. Our flexible and cost efficient service will continue when the WEEE directive comes into force in July. Viglen is proud to announce the completion of signing up with recycling industry innovators Veolia as a WEEE Compliance scheme partner.
