Viglen Storage Group won the tender to supply a SAN and backup solution to City College Manchester. The total order value is approx £320k.

The solution includes two Hitachi high end AMS1000 storage arrays, McData Fibre channel switches, Commvault backup software and two Overland tape libraries. The two AMS1000’s, each with 6TB of FC disks and 20TB of SATA disks, will be installed by VSG engineers in separate computer data centres. Information will be replicated between locations to provide disaster recovery facilities.
